How much does respite cost
The cost of respite care depends on who provides the care, the length of time involved, and the sort of care.
Some organisations offer private respite services that you pay for. Other services may be free or subsidised (cheaper for you).
If the person you care for has disability, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) may be able to arrange respite care for them. If the person you care for is aged over 65, My Aged Care may be able to arrange respite care for them. If you need respite care in an emergency, call your local Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre on 1800 052 222 (or 1800 059 059 after hours).
